 REWILD MENTORING

Our mentoring program allows you to progress at your own pace, covering the areas of rewilding, bushcraft, nature awareness, tracking and survival that most interest you.

Teaching takes place one-to-one, or in small groups so as to ensure a high quality of learning.

How does it work?

Since we keep the groups small, courses are run according to demand. You let us know what dates work for you and how many folks you want to bring (or if you want one-to-one mentoring).

We begin with the Bushcraft Basics. This includes choosing kit, making camp, knife work, knots, firelighting w/matches or lighter, axes/saws, blade sharpening, cooking on open fire etc.

Thereafter, you choose which area of our curriculum you'd like to focus on, and start from there (see below for curriculum details). You progress at your own pace and in the areas that you most want to focus on.

Once you have reached a certain level of proficiency in enough of the curriculum areas, you'll be eligible for the invitation only Survival Quest program. This is where we take to the bush as a small, nomadic tribe with a minimum of equipment and supplies. Here we fuse the disparate skills into a wilderness adventure experience of a life time.

"What we are looking for is not the meaning of life, but the experience of living." - Joseph Campbell

How long does it take?
You progress at your own pace, coming back when you're hungry for more. That way, you get to really digest and assimilate all the information and skills we introduce, and make the skills your own. This is the only way you can begin to rely on your bushcraft skill, to the extent that you would literally bet your life on it.

Each day of teaching runs from 9am to 1pm.

How much is it?
Mentoring fees are below. This includes all materials, tool use and teaching resources.

1-to-1 Mentoring: $450 per day
Two participants: $245 per person, per day
Three participants: $195 per person
Four or more participants: $175 per person

Where is it?
Mentoring takes place in various bush location in the Jervis Bay area of the NSW South Coast, depending on the topic being taught. The Survival Quest takes place in the same area.

Alternatively, if you have a suitable venue, you can contact us and we'll come to you!
(Travel expenses additional to mentoring fee)

Where do we stay?
Participants arrange their own accommodation in the Jervis Bay area; you get to choose from the many options on offer in the area (from econo-camping to gourmet luxury lodge).

When is it?
You get to choose! Since we keep the groups small, courses are run according to demand. You let us know what dates work for you and how many folks you want to bring (or if you want one-to-one mentoring). This is on-demand bushcraft teaching for the modern human.

What age?
Participants must be aged 16 or over. Parental consent forms must be signed for participants younger than 18 years old. For kids and teens under 16, see our ReWild Your Child program, which introduces many of the same skills.

Bluegum Bushcraft runs rewilding programmes on the NSW South Coast. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this whole area, the Dharawal, Jerrinja and Yuin people. We acknowledge traditional custodians of the entire continent. We ask permission to help people, in the ways that way can, to deepen into their relationships with the living earth and walk with respect and deep listening.

We walk on stolen land and know that sovereignty was never ceded.
