Nature Connection
We, all of us, come from a long line of human beings who lived close to the earth.
No matter where you come from, you have ancestors who knew the wild places so intimately, so deeply, they had no word for 'wild'. They lived and loved, laughed and sang, under the vast open skies of the land where they belonged.
They belonged because they knew that land so well. They belonged because it was part of their flesh, it flowed in their blood, their every breath. They belonged because they knew themselves to be as one with that land; the land that had fed and sheltered, taught and tested, held them and their loved ones since time out of mind.
How many of us today have truly experienced that depth of connection to the natural world?
Perhaps you have touched it; known fleetingly that feeling of belonging, or ached with grief or rage at what is no longer.
And yet, the truth remains - we are, all of us, the descendants of human beings who lived close to the earth, and that belonging; that connection, is our birthright. It is who you truly are, and it is what your human body still knows, in its bones, at its heart.
If you feel the inner calling for connection with the earth, then let us walk this journey together. Let us set our feet once more on the soil; let us do so in blessing, and in turn let us receive the blessing that waits, that has always waited, just around that bend in the trail.
