Bluegum Teens

The teenage years can be a testing time, for teenagers and parents alike.
Teens need opportunities for real adventure (both boys and girls), to test themselves, to find out who they are and what qualities they can offer to their community.
This need to push the limits is best met in the natural world, where real independence is possible. When young people can experience the world away from the usual voices of external authority there is space to find meaning, purpose and passion and bring these back to their daily lives.
If you're a teenager who hears the call of the wild places, you're our kind of person.
If you're a parent who knows a teenager you feel might benefit from some time out bush, feel free to get in touch.
Our Bluegum Teens programme is a rite of passage - it provides a structure and a sphere of safety within which to push limits and embark on a journey of self-discovery.
Activities/teaching may include:
-survival techniques -tracking and nature awareness -fire making without matches -safe knifework techniques -flintknapping (making stone blades) -bow making -hunting and trapping -bush tucker -shelter building -silent movement -natural camouflage -hide tanning -string/basket making and many more... |
